Meet at Ufford Park Hotel monthly

Welcome to our web site

Our club has been in existence for 72 years. Currently we have 22 full members. We meet on the first Thursday of each month at Ufford Park Hotel to enjoy dinner, often followed by a speaker. We begin at 6.30 pm and usually finish at about 9pm. The evening meal consists of a main course and tea/coffee.

Objects of Inner Wheel
  • To promote true friendship
  • To encourage the ideals of personal service
  • To foster international understanding

Inner Wheel is a caring organisation.

Membership

Membership is open to the wife, female partner, widow, mother, sister or daughter of a current or former Rotarian; also a mother, sister or daughter of an Inner Wheel member or member of Rotaract. In addition, women who have been invited to join Inner Wheel provided the majority of the Club members agree.

Inner Wheel will be 100 years old in 2024. The first Inner Wheel club was founded in Manchester in 1924 and clubs have since spread to 103 countries with over 100,000 members worldwide.  Various discussions are now taking place about how the organisation can be relevant and accessible to all in the future. Currently, there is a proposal for an i-club (a permanent on-line club) that would enable those unable to attend meetings in person still to belong to our international women’s association. You may be surprised to learn that International Inner Wheel (IIW) has three representatives at the United Nations in Geneva, New York and Vienna, respectively. IIW has three key objectives: to promote true friendship; to encourage the ideals of personal service; and, to foster international understanding. Any woman who shares the three central aims of IIW can join the organisation. These objectives are the same for the Inner Wheel Club of Woodbridge and whilst our monthly meetings might not reach the heights of a UN meeting in Geneva, we can make a difference locally by being of service to our community.
